I love non-fiction and my three favourite books published in 2025 are:

  • Ignite Your Yoga by Susanna Barkataki
  • Welcome to AuDHD by Megan Griffith
  • Queer Minds by Katy Lees

All these titles helped me feel more comfortable in my own skin in different ways.

Ignite Your Yoga is about living your yoga in all that you do, and it explores what it means to live a spiritual life. I really enjoy learning about yoga philosophy and this book helps bring the philosophy to life in a way that inspires action in everyday life.

Welcome to AuDHD made me feel so seen and it’s written in such a gentle way that it was incredibly soothing. There are loads of practical tips in here but mainly I just adored the virtual hug it provided.

Here’s my theory about masking and being a person. The self is a story we are continuously telling. It evolves, it changes, the characters grow, the setting changes, and the person we were at the begining of the story isn’t a mistake or a lie; they’re just not who we are at the middle or the end of the story, and maybe that’s a good thing.” (p141 Welcome to AuDHD)

Finally, Queer Minds not only made me feel seen but also expanded my awareness of other experiences within the LGBTQIA+ community. The book consists of interviews with queer therapists, activists, and others who cover topics like queer healing and trans joy. It’s heartwarming to read so many inspiring accounts of people doing good things, dreaming into being a better world for LGBTQIA+ folx.

Thank you to all these authors for sharing their wisdom. Have you read any of the books? Do you have other recommendations from your own reading in 2025? I’d love to hear your thoughts via Instagram @mookaitejasper
