Llewellyn Con 2026 – top five watches

It was an absolute joy to be part of Llewellyn Con 2026 this summer, for the second year running.

But more than anything, I loved being part of the audience joining in the chat while listening to other amazing authors.

There were heaps of fascinating presentations at this beautiful free online festival, and it made me proud to be a Llewellyn author.

Below you’ll find my top five recommendations of the talks I attended.

First, here is the link to the recording of my talk for Llewellyn Con 2026, called The Queer Yoga Year: Celebrating LGBTQIA+ Lives Through Yoga.

And in case you missed it, here is the link to last year’s talk that I did at Llewellyn Con 2025, called Queer Joy and Healing: LGBTQIA+ Belonging in the Body.

But let’s dive into the other brilliant talks that took place this year, because there was so many – and in fact too many for me to watch them all yet. Luckily the replays are freely available, so the fun continues!

This is my pick of top five favourites I’ve watched so far…

1. Dionysus: More Than a Party God

I’m sure lots of people know that Dionysus is a queer icon – but honestly, this was all an education for me!

I was absolutely buzzing in queer author Phoenix LeFae’s talk because this was the first time I learned that there is Greek god who is famous for gender fluidity.

Maybe it’s because I’m sober, and Dionysus is the Greek god of wine, but somehow I’ve never crossed paths with Dionysus before. As the title of the talk states, though, there is so much more to this god than wine!

2. Medusa and Protection Magick

The best thing about Llewellyn Con live is joining in the chat. I got real brave at the end of this talk by Robin Corak, and asked the following question:

“Do you think Medusa has a message for the queer community this Pride month?”

Robin very kindly answered my question live, on the spot, with this stunning response on the theme of being ‘othered’:

“I think it’s so important for you if you identify as part of that community […] to be able to hold Medusa’s gaze, knowing that you are beautiful and you are powerful, and your worth is not defined by what anyone else thinks or what any stories people tell you about you.

“Because if you look at her myths, all these people talked about her, but she never had a voice. And I think that’s so important to reclaim that power and I think that’s something that Medusa would very much support.

“And if you are an ally, I would say the gaze is to be able to hold her gaze and see where you have the ability to use your power and where you have the ability to understand ways that you might unintentionally be contributing to othering because the way our brains work, it’s kind of crazy how we categorize things.”

3. Obeah: An Afro-Caribbean Spiritual and Magical Practice

As a queer person who was brought up in a Christian family (and didn’t always find it easy) I’m particularly interested in other cultures’ religions, and alternative views on spirituality. I find it healing to be reminded that the Christian narrative I grew up with is just one viewpoint among many.

I was drawn into this session by Emma Kathryn’s passion for the topic and if you’re interested in finding out more about African religious traditions, I really recommend this talk.

4. Seasons of the Soul: A Tarot Journey Through Care, Shadow, Growth and Change

My own book, Queer Yoga, is divided into 12 chapters, one for each month of the year because I really love a seasonal approach to yoga, and I think that our queer journeys can be viewed through a seasonal lens too.

In this talk by Chelsey Pippin Mizzi, a seasonal approach is applied to tarot, and some of the themes used by Chelsey, like transformation, struck me as particularly queer (although this was not explicitly a queer talk).

5. What’s Your Moon Sign Really Saying? Uncovering Your Emotional Blueprint

For anyone interested in astrology, this is a must-watch!

This session by Amy Truong packed in so much information about moon signs that it merits a re-watch to digest it all. But the session is really accessible and includes information to interest both beginners and those who are more experienced with astrology.

I love how Amy also offered links to free resources, which are so beautifully designed. Thanks Amy!

Thank you Llewellyn Con 2026!

Massive thanks to Anna and the team at Llewellyn who put on this incredible event, and thank you for inviting me to be one of the speakers.

Thank you of course to all five authors mentioned here in this post for sharing their time and expertise, as well as all the other presenters who took part.

Hopefully this gorgeous annual gathering online will be back next year!
